About Iona

I am a qualified, social sciences tutor with 10 years’ experience teaching A-Level and GCSE Sociology across both Cambridge and AQA syllabuses. For the past three years, I’ve also worked as an associate A-level Sociology examiner, giving me clear insight into exam requirements and marking criteria.

I create a collaborative, supportive online learning environment and make topics relevant to everyday life. My teaching focuses on practical study skills and clear, individual targets to help students strengthen their essay writing.

I work confidently with students of all abilities and tailor my approach to each student. Most students I have taught have moved from predicted C–D grades to final B–A grades after 8–12 weekly lessons. I use my examining experience to show motivated students how to reach A–A* through focused feedback on practice questions.
